Outstanding Summer Season
The CCO has had a wonderful summer season of concerts. On June 12, we delighted the residents of Apple Tree Assisted Living in Kaysville with a concert of patriotic music and show tunes. On July 24 we joined in the Handcart Days celebration at Bountiful City Park. And on August 17, we played to a full house at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater as part of Layton City's summer concert series. Our summer repertoire included patriotic favorites ("You're a Grand Old Flag", "America the Beautiful", "God Bless America", "Semper Fi", and "El Capitan") and show tunes ("Jurassic Park", "Superman", "The Sound of Music", "Oklahoma", "The Pink Panther", and "Mission Impossible").
We are currently planning a wonderful schedule of fall and winter performances, including a Fall Concert, a Veteran's Day program, a Christmas Nativity program at the Kaysville Tabernacle, and the Messiah Sing-Along at the Kaysville Tabernacle. We are always looking for new musicians, and now is the perfect time to join us as we begin working on new literature. No audition required; just a love for great music and a desire to share it with the community. We currently have openings in all sections (strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion) and would love to have you join us.

Preparing for Our Spring Concert
It's been a while since we've posted to this blog. We'll try to keep it current from now on.
The Celebration Chamber Orchestra is alive, and strong, and looking for more musicians. Has it been too long since you've played your fiddle? Is there a layer of dust on your trombone case? Do you need an excuse to give your old drumsticks a workout?
The CCO is currently preparing music for an exciting Spring Concert on April 18. Come join us and remind yourself how awesome it is to be part of a quality ensemble playing some of the most beautiful music ever written. No audition required; just a love for good music and a desire to share it with others.
For more information, contact orchestra president Jonathan Chipman at gokkan2@hotmail.com. Or just show up at one of our rehearsals to check us out. We practice Thursday nights at 7:00 at the armory in front of Central Davis Junior High in Layton.
